A Lemon Squeezy checkout link on your website, with tax left to them
Lemon Squeezy gives every product a checkout link. Save it in Anticode's payment-link connector, republish, and your pricing and buy buttons open Lemon Squeezy's checkout in a new tab. Because Lemon Squeezy acts as merchant of record, it is the legal seller of each sale and takes care of digital sales tax, which is why software and digital sellers choose it.
Merchant of record, briefly
With an ordinary payment processor, you are the seller: you work out which countries' VAT or sales tax applies to a digital sale, collect it and file returns. A merchant of record steps into that role. Lemon Squeezy's merchant of record page says digital sales taxes and compliance are taken care of for you and that post-sale disputes are handled by Lemon Squeezy, while you manage refunds in its dashboard. For a solo developer selling licences worldwide, that's often the deciding factor.
Copy the right link
Lemon Squeezy's guide to sharing products says each product has a unique checkout URL, found under the product's Share button, and that share links use a /checkout/buy/ path. It also warns about a trap:
Connect it
One Lemon Squeezy checkout link, website buttons that point at it, and a republish: that is the whole setup. There is no API key to paste and nothing to install, because Anticode never talks to Lemon Squeezy directly.
- In Lemon Squeezy, open the product, press Share and copy the checkout link.
- In Anticode, open Connectors › Payment link, paste it and save. The link is public by design, so Anticode stores it as visible settings, not a secret.
- Make sure your build has a pricing section, the payments must-have or an online store.
- Republish, then click a button on the live site and check the address starts with your store's checkout path, not a cart.
Software and subscriptions
Lemon Squeezy is popular for software because licence keys, subscriptions and file delivery live alongside the checkout. All of that stays on Lemon Squeezy's side. Your Anticode page explains the product and links to the purchase; Lemon Squeezy issues the key, emails the receipt and manages renewals. If your pricing table shows monthly and yearly options but you can only save one link, pick the plan you most want people to start on and mention the other in the FAQ, or link a page that offers both.
The overlay isn't available here
Lemon Squeezy can open checkout as an overlay on top of your page, but that needs its JavaScript running on the page. Anticode's published pages allow no scripts and no embedded frames, and the code editor refuses scripts, so use the hosted checkout through the link. Buyers see a full Lemon Squeezy page in a new tab, with your store's branding as configured there.
Checklist before launch
- The price on your page matches the product's price in Lemon Squeezy, including whether tax is shown on top.
- Your store is activated for live payments, not just test mode, before you publish the link.
- The FAQ says who the buyer pays (Lemon Squeezy will appear on the receipt) and how to get a refund.
- Your privacy policy mentions Lemon Squeezy as the payment provider. Anticode's generated legal pages are a starting point, not legal advice.
Limits
- One link per account. All buy and pricing buttons, on all your sites, share it.
- No purchase data in Anticode. Orders, customers and licence keys are in Lemon Squeezy.
- No cart on your pages. Lemon Squeezy's own checkout handles quantities and variants if the product offers them.
- Nothing inside apps. Model-written apps are sandboxed with no payments.
