Anticode vs Mixo: two AI builders that start from a description, compared
Mixo and Anticode start the same way: you describe the business and the AI builds the site. Mixo aims at getting a small business online fast, with pages, contact forms, a blog and SEO generated in one go and sites in other languages. Anticode adds a short planning step, seven fixed design systems, design and security checks that must pass before publishing, and code export. Speed and languages favour Mixo; control favours Anticode.
The short answer
Of the tools we compare, Mixo is the closest in idea to Anticode, so the choice comes down to details. Pick Mixo if you want a business site live in minutes with as few decisions as possible, need it in a language other than English, or want a blog generated alongside it. Pick Anticode if you want to agree a plan before the build, want the look held to a named design system rather than chosen for you each time, want accessibility and security checks that block publishing until they pass, or want to export the code.
From description to site
Mixo's home page says you describe your business and it instantly builds a professional website, a complete business site in seconds with pages, contact forms, a blog, SEO and optimisation for AI search, which you review and publish. Its features page asks what your business does and who you serve, then lets you generate and edit the site with no code or design skills and make simple updates whenever you like.
Anticode puts a conversation before the build. The Architect replies to the description, asks up to three questions only where the answer would change the site, and shows a plan with the name, the kind of site, its sections, its look and its features. "Build it" builds exactly that plan. The Designer then picks one of seven design systems (Editorial, Technical, Luxury, Playful, Brutalist, Organic or Swiss), each with one font family and one action colour, so the result doesn't drift between generations.
Side by side
| Anticode | Mixo | |
|---|---|---|
| Design approach | Seven named design systems, nineteen design checks and a design gate | AI-generated design, edited afterwards |
| How you build | Describe it, answer up to three questions, agree the plan, build | Describe the business; the site is generated at once |
| Code ownership and export | One HTML file or a Next.js project; push to GitHub | No export described on the pages we read |
| Hosting and custom domains | anticode.dev address free; your own domain on paid plans | Hosted by Mixo; your own domain or a new one on paid plans |
| Security checks | Twelve checks on the shipped HTML; failing pages can't be published | No pre-publish security scan described on the pages we read |
| Languages | English only | Sites generated in the language you choose |
| Pricing model | Daily and weekly build allowance, a quote before each build | Free one-page plan; paid plans for more pages and domains |
| Best for | Founders and small businesses who want a checked, consistent result | Small businesses that want a site online quickly, in any language |
Design and checks
Generated sites tend to repeat the same habits: a small coloured label above every heading, a highlighted word in the headline, a purple-to-blue gradient, cards that lift on hover. Anticode's Critic runs nineteen checks for patterns like these on the page that ships, and the design gate refuses to publish a page that lacks a page language, a phone viewport, visible keyboard focus, reduced-motion support or alt text, or that still contains placeholder text or empty links. The Sentinel then runs twelve security checks on the same HTML. Why AI websites look the same goes through the patterns.
Mixo's own pages describe built-in SEO with automatic submission to search engines, but we found no description of design or security checks run before publishing. That doesn't mean its sites are unsafe; it means you'd be the one checking.
Plans
Mixo's pricing loads in its web app, so we couldn't read plan amounts on 24 October 2026 and haven't quoted any. The FAQ on its features page says the free plan lets you create, edit and publish a one-page website at no cost, that upgrading adds more pages, custom domains and advanced features, and that purchases have a 30-day money-back policy.
Anticode's free plan lets you build and publish on an anticode.dev address with a small badge. Paid plans add your own domain and a larger allowance; every build has a quote first, and failed or refused builds aren't counted. See pricing.
Where Mixo is the better choice
- A site in your language. Mixo's help centre says it can generate a website in another language when you write the description in it. Anticode is English only.
- A blog from day one. Mixo includes a blog in the generated site; Anticode's CMS collections can hold posts but have no comments, RSS or scheduling.
- Fewest steps. No questions or plan to approve; the site appears straight away.
- Third-party analytics. Mixo lists Google Analytics and Facebook integrations. Anticode has its own cookie-free analytics and no third-party trackers.
Where Anticode is the better choice
- You approve the plan first. Sections and features are agreed before anything is generated.
- A consistent look. One design system, one font family and one action colour, checked on every page.
- Publishing checks. Accessibility and security problems stop the page going live.
- Code export. One HTML file or a Next.js project you can push to GitHub.
- Where submissions go. Ten connectors, including Slack, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion and HubSpot, plus webhooks.
Who should pick which
A tradesperson in Lisbon who needs a site in Portuguese this afternoon should use Mixo. A founder preparing a launch page who wants to agree the structure, have it checked and later hand the code to a developer should try Anticode. Mixo alternatives covers other tools.
Anticode's limits
English only, no blog engine, no shopping cart, fixed fields on built-in forms, fixed booking times, no video or embeds on design-engine pages, and the planning step takes a minute longer than generating straight away. Mixo details come from its own pages on 24 October 2026; if they've changed, tell us through the contact page.
Questions people ask
Is Mixo free?
Mixo's FAQ says its free plan lets you create, edit and publish a one-page website. More pages and custom domains need a paid plan.
Can Mixo build a website in another language?
Yes. Its help centre says you write the description in the language you want and the AI generates the site in it.
Can I move a Mixo site to Anticode?
There's no import. Paste the same description into Anticode, answer its questions and compare the results.
