Mixo alternatives for when a quick launch page needs more direction, or a way out
Mixo turns a description of your business into a site in minutes, which is ideal for a first launch page. People look at Mixo alternatives for two reasons: they want more say in how the site looks, or they want the code. Mixo does offer a source-code download, but as a paid extra handled by email, and the site can't come back in afterwards.
What Mixo does, in its own words
Mixo's features page says you describe your business and it builds the site, which you can then edit with no code or design skills. You add your own photos, video and brand; forms capture enquiries, bookings and leads, and their submissions can be exported. It lists a custom domain, built-in SEO with automatic submission to search engines, connections to tools such as Google Analytics and Facebook, and a free plan with one published page.
Design control is where expectations differ. Mixo's help article on updating colours sends you to Settings, then Branding, to set the background, primary text and secondary text colours with a picker or hex code. That is quick, and it's the kind of control that suits a launch page. If you want a different structure, a particular typeface or a look with a stronger point of view, check what the editor offers for that before you commit more work to the site.
We couldn't read Mixo's plan prices: its pricing page at app.mixo.io loads in the browser and returned no text to our check on 24 October 2026. Look there for current prices.
Getting your site and data out
Mixo's help answer Can I download the source code for my Mixo site? says yes, for backup or migration. You buy the download through a payment link, then email the receipt number and the site's name to Mixo support. Only published files can be downloaded, and sites can't be imported back into Mixo. The price isn't stated on the article.
- Export form submissions first. The features page says submissions can be exported. Do that before anything else, while the site is live.
- Decide on the code. If you want the published files, buy the download and wait for support to send it. If you're rebuilding elsewhere anyway, copying the text and photos may be enough.
- Write down your branding: the hex codes from Branding, your logo files and the fonts you see on the live site.
- List your connections. Note the analytics and Facebook IDs you added and where enquiries are sent.
- Delete last. Mixo's help on un-publishing or deleting a site warns that deleting is permanent. Unpublish while you test the new site, and delete only when you're sure.
Four options to compare
| Option | Suits | From its own pages |
|---|---|---|
| Carrd | A one-page site you can download | Pro Plus is $49 a year for 25 sites and adds Download Sites, redirects and password protection |
| Framer | Designers who want to lay out every section themselves | Its pricing page lists Basic at $10 a month for 30 pages with a custom domain; the currency isn't named |
| Durable | A service business that wants a site with a CRM and bookings | Its pricing page lists Launch with custom forms, a built-in CRM and booking synced to your calendar |
| Anticode | A launch or business page with a planned design and an HTML or Next.js export | English only; no cart |
Durable's page shows Launch at $25 a month on the plan card and $22 in the comparison table, without saying which billing period each applies to, so confirm at checkout. Carrd's download comes with its higher Pro Plus tier rather than Pro Standard.
Where Anticode fits
Anticode answers both reasons people leave Mixo. On design, the Architect asks up to three questions where the answer changes the build and shows a plan with the sections and look first; the build is then held to one of seven design systems, from Editorial to Swiss, with one font family and one action colour. After it's built, the visual editor changes text, section order, theme, action colour and headline scale.
On the way out, you can export the site as one self-contained HTML file, or as a standard Next.js project with TypeScript, Postgres and server routes for contact, bookings and newsletter sign-ups, with no Anticode runtime. Newsletter and contact forms save submissions, can email you, and can pass them to Slack, HubSpot, Google Sheets, a webhook or, for newsletter sign-ups only, Mailchimp and Kit. The built-in forms have fixed fields; for a lead form with your own questions, a custom form tied to a site function takes up to 30 fields. See HTML export, the Next.js export and what a launch page needs.
What Anticode won't do for a Mixo user
- No cart. Buy buttons open a checkout link from Stripe Payment Links, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Shopify or Whop, and there's one payment link per account, so every buy button on every site opens the same checkout.
- English only. The builder and the pages it makes are in English; no multilingual sites.
- Fixed booking times. The booking form offers six set times a day on the coming days, skipping Mondays. You can't set your own hours or slot lengths.
- No video or embeds on design-engine pages. Mixo lets you add video; Anticode's design-engine pages can't play video or embed widgets, so link to YouTube or Vimeo.
- No tracking scripts. Published pages run no scripts, so a Google Analytics tag or Facebook pixel can't be added. Anticode counts views per site itself, without cookies.
- No import. It can't read your Mixo site or the downloaded files; describe the page and paste your text.
When Mixo is still enough
If the page exists to test an idea, collect a few hundred sign-ups or give a new business an address while you work on the rest, Mixo stays a quick option for a basic launch page. The things it skips, deep design control and a free export, matter more once the site is meant to last. Keep exporting your form submissions, and move when the page has outgrown its first job.
Questions people ask
Can I download my Mixo site?
Yes, as a paid extra. Mixo's help centre says you buy the download, then email support your receipt number and site name. Only published files are included, and the site can't be imported back.
Can I change fonts and layout on Mixo?
Mixo's colour article covers background and text colours under Settings, then Branding. It doesn't cover fonts or layout, so check the editor or ask Mixo support.
Which mixo alternatives let me export the site?
Carrd's Pro Plus plans include Download Sites. Anticode exports a single HTML file or a Next.js project on its own.
Can I use my Facebook pixel on an Anticode page?
No. Published pages run no scripts, so pixels and analytics tags can't be added.
