Anticode vs Durable: a site plus business tools, or a site designed and checked on its own

Durable generates a small-business website in about thirty seconds from three questions, then surrounds it with business tools: a CRM, bookings, invoices, email campaigns and AI agents. Anticode does one job, the website itself, with design direction and checks that must pass before publishing. If you want your back office in the same place as your site, Durable is built for that; if the site is what matters, Anticode is.

The short answer

Choose Durable if you run a service business and want a site, a customer list, online bookings and invoicing under one login, with AI agents writing blog posts and social posts for you. Choose Anticode if you already have tools for customers and money, or don't need them yet, and want the site to look considered, follow one design system and pass accessibility and security checks before it goes live.

How each one builds a site

Durable's AI website builder page says you answer three questions about your business, such as industry, name and goals, and it generates a working site with content, images and layout in around 30 seconds. You then change layouts, images, headings and fonts in a drag-and-drop editor. The same page describes AI lead-capture forms and chatbots, a built-in CRM, bookings and AI email campaigns, and says every site gets DDoS protection, SSL, a firewall and a CDN.

Anticode takes a little longer on purpose. The Architect reads your request, asks up to three questions only where the answer changes the build, and shows a plan before building. The Designer holds the site to one of seven design systems, with one font family and one action colour. The Critic runs nineteen design checks, and a design gate blocks publishing a page without visible keyboard focus, reduced-motion support, alt text or a page language, or one that still contains placeholder text or empty links.

The business tools around the site

Durable's pricing page lists a built-in CRM on every plan (the free plan holds up to ten customers), online booking synced to your calendar on Launch, and AI agents that publish blog posts, collect reviews and research competitors. Durable's help centre has a Money section covering invoices with automatic payment reminders and online payments through Stripe, available in the US, Canada, the UK and Australia.

Anticode doesn't try to be a CRM or an invoicing tool. Its sites collect contact, booking and newsletter submissions, seal them at rest and can email the owner; connectors then send them to tools you already use, such as HubSpot, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, Slack, Mailchimp or a webhook. Bookings refuse past dates and dates more than 120 days out, and two visitors can't take the same slot, but there's no calendar sync, deposits or staff rota. Payment goes through a payment link from Stripe, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Shopify or Whop. Routing contact form enquiries shows how the connectors fit together.

How you pay

As of 24 October 2026, Durable's AI builder page gives the Launch plan as $22 a month billed annually or $25 a month billed monthly. The pricing page shows a free plan with 300 AI credits in total and a private preview; Launch with 1,000 AI credits a month, your own domain or a free one up to a $20 value; and Grow at $49 a month billed monthly, with 5,000 credits a month, unlimited users and a $40 domain credit, and a lower rate for yearly billing. The page doesn't name the currency.

Anticode doesn't sell AI credits for everyday building. Each plan has a daily and a weekly allowance measured by what each build actually cost, the builder shows a quote before each build, and refused or failed builds are marked as not charged. Prices are on the pricing page.

Owning the result

Durable is a hosted platform. In its own comparison with CodeDesign, Durable's table marks code export as unsupported for Durable, so the site stays on Durable. Its help centre does describe exporting your customer list as a CSV file.

Anticode exports a project as one self-contained HTML file or as a standard Next.js App Router project with TypeScript, Postgres through Prisma, server routes for bookings, contact and newsletter forms, and an admin area with two-factor sign-in and roles, with no Anticode runtime. You can push that project to a GitHub repository you pick and host it anywhere.

Where Durable is the better choice

  • One place for the business. A CRM, invoices and bookings beside the site, with nothing to connect.
  • Speed above all. A first site from three answers in about half a minute.
  • Calendar-synced bookings. Durable's Launch plan lists booking synced to your calendar; Anticode's booking calendar has no sync.
  • More than one language. The pricing page says Grow translates the whole site and its SEO data, with a language switcher; Anticode's sites are English only.
  • Ongoing AI content. Agents that write blog and social posts for you.

Where Anticode is the better choice

  • The site is the product. Design systems and checks instead of a generic first draft.
  • Pages without scripts. Design-engine pages ship with no JavaScript at all, and the server re-runs key security checks at publish.
  • Code you can keep. HTML or Next.js export and a GitHub push.
  • Your existing tools. Form submissions go to the CRM or spreadsheet you already use.

Anticode's limits

No CRM, invoicing, email campaigns or AI agents that post for you. No calendar sync or deposits for bookings, no shopping cart, no visitor accounts on published sites, fixed fields on the built-in forms (other fields need a custom form tied to a site function) and an English-only builder. If you're comparing more options, see Durable alternatives. The Durable facts above come from its own pages as read on 24 October 2026; tell us through the contact page if something has changed.
