Durable alternatives: keep the business tools or put the website first
Durable sells a website and a set of small-business tools together: a CRM, bookings, invoicing, lead capture and more. Before choosing between Durable alternatives, decide which half you're unhappy with. If it's the website's look, several builders take more design direction; if you rely on the tools, moving means replacing each one.
What Durable includes
Durable's AI website builder page describes the start: answer three questions about your business, and it generates a site with copy, images and layout in around 30 seconds, which you then edit by dragging and dropping. Around the site it lists an AI copywriter, SEO and blog tools, an image generator, a built-in CRM, bookings, invoicing, lead-capture forms and chatbots, email campaigns, social media tools and analytics.
The pricing page, as of 24 October 2026, shows a Free plan (a site preview, 300 AI credits, and a CRM for up to ten customers) and two paid plans. Launch adds hosting, a custom domain, the CRM, booking, blog publishing, review requests and 1,000 AI credits a month; Grow adds unlimited team members, automatic site translation and 5,000 credits. The page shows Launch at $25 and Grow at $49 a month on its plan cards but $22 and $41 in its comparison table, alongside a yearly option that saves 15%, so confirm the figure at checkout.
Why people compare alternatives
Most of the reasons fall into two groups. Some owners want the website to carry more of the business's own character than a three-question start can give it, and would put more into the brief or the design. Others find they use only the site and not the CRM, invoicing or campaigns, and want to know whether a builder without them fits better. Neither is a complaint about Durable's tools; they're a question of which half you need.
Before you leave: contacts and the domain
- Contacts. Durable's help centre explains how to export customers as a CSV file: select contacts in the Contacts dashboard (the top checkbox selects all) and use the Download icon.
- The domain. Durable's domain transfer policy has three conditions: your subscription has been active for at least three consecutive months, the domain was registered through Durable rather than connected from elsewhere, and the account has no outstanding payments. Then you contact Durable for the authorisation (EPP) code. If you connected a domain bought elsewhere, you only need to change its DNS.
- Site content. Copy your page text and download your images; we found no site export in Durable's help centre.
- Bookings, invoices and blog posts. Note open bookings and unpaid invoices, and copy each post with its address so you can redirect it.
- Timing. Durable's cancellation article says the subscription stays active until the end of the billing cycle. Have the new site ready before then.
Four options to weigh
| Option | Suits | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Hostinger Website Builder | A low upfront price, with an AI start, mailboxes and a store on its higher plans | Paid upfront for a long term, with a higher renewal price |
| Squarespace | Selling products, services and memberships, with invoices, on one subscription; plans on its pricing page | Check which of Durable's tools it covers for you before moving |
| Framer | Full control of the design on a canvas; see its pricing page | You design every page yourself |
| Anticode | A website planned from a longer brief and built to a design system | No CRM, invoicing, email campaigns or chatbot |
Where Anticode fits
Anticode is for the owner who wants to put more into the site. The Architect talks the request through, asks up to three questions where the answer changes the build, and shows a plan with sections, look and features before building. The Designer holds it to one of seven design systems with a single font family and action colour, and the Critic runs nineteen design checks. Links you include in the request are read and summarised into the brief. See the Architect conversation.
Some of Durable's tools have a counterpart. The booking calendar takes a service, day, time, name, phone and email and stops double bookings. Contact and newsletter forms save submissions and can send them to HubSpot, Mailchimp, Kit, Google Sheets, Notion, Airtable or Slack, so your contact list lives in a CRM or mailing tool you choose. Page views are counted per day and source in the dashboard without cookies. See form connectors.
What you'd give up
- No CRM, invoicing or review requests. Use the connectors to send leads to a tool that does this.
- No email campaigns or chatbot. Mailchimp and Kit receive newsletter sign-ups; sending campaigns happens there.
- Bookings are simple. No deposits, calendar sync or staff rotas.
- No translation. Durable's Grow plan lists automatic site translation; Anticode builds English sites only, with an English-only builder.
- No blog engine. CMS collections can hold posts, but there are no comments, RSS or scheduling.
When staying on Durable makes sense
If your week runs through Durable's CRM, bookings and invoices, the website is only one part of what you'd be replacing, and stitching together a builder, a CRM, an invoicing tool and an email service may cost more time and money than it saves. The same goes if you need the site in more than one language. In that case, spend an hour reworking the copy and images in Durable's editor before you move. Leave when the website itself is the thing that matters most to you. Compare the two directly on Anticode vs Durable.
Questions people ask
Can I take my domain with me if I leave Durable?
Yes, under Durable's transfer policy: the subscription must have been active for three consecutive months, the domain registered through Durable, and the account paid up. Durable then provides the EPP code.
How do I export my customers from Durable?
Select contacts in the Contacts dashboard and click the Download icon; Durable's help centre says the file is usually a CSV.
Is there a Durable AI alternative with a CRM built in?
Anticode doesn't include a CRM; it sends form submissions to HubSpot and other tools. If you want the CRM inside the builder, Durable's bundle is the reason to stay.
