Anticode vs Figma Make and Figma Sites: building from a design file or from a sentence

Figma Make turns prompts and existing Figma designs into working prototypes and web apps, and Figma Sites publishes websites designed in Figma. Both make most sense for teams who already design there. Anticode starts from a sentence with no design file, picks and holds a design system for you, and checks the page before it can go live.

The short answer

If your team's designs, components and brand library already live in Figma, Figma Make and Figma Sites let you turn that work into a prototype, an app or a published site without leaving it, and that continuity is hard for any outside tool to match. If you don't have a design file, or anyone who would make one, Anticode gets you from a description to a designed, checked and published site.

Two Figma products, one Anticode

Figma Make is Figma's prompt-to-code tool. Its page says everything it builds is code-backed and visually editable, and that it uses your design context, from systems to images; Make kits sync npm packages, library styles and guidelines. Figma's help article on Make describes building through chat, attaching existing designs, editing the code in a Files tab, adding a backend for logins and saved content, and publishing to a dedicated URL or a custom domain. Figma's Make FAQs list code export on Full and Dev seats.

Figma Sites is for websites designed in Figma: you design, prototype and publish in one place, add preset interactions such as marquees and hover effects, edit the code, and let collaborators update content through a CMS view while the layout stays locked.

Anticode covers both jobs from a written brief. The Architect plans the site with you, the design engine builds pages in plain HTML and CSS with one of seven design systems, and apps are written as single sandboxed HTML files. There's no design file at any stage, and no Figma import.

Seats, credits and domains

As of 24 October 2026, Figma's pricing page lists a free Starter plan with 150 AI credits a day up to 500 a month, and a Professional Full seat at $16 a month with 3,000 AI credits. Organization Full seats are $55 a month and Enterprise Full seats $90, both billed annually. The help centre says Make is available for Full seats on paid plans, and the pricing page says the Sites beta is available on Full seats. Custom domains for sites are available on all paid plans, with up to ten on Professional and no set cap on Organization and Enterprise.

Anticode's plans carry daily and weekly build allowances, each build is quoted first, and failed builds aren't counted; the Team plan adds a shared workspace with seats. Details are on pricing.

Design control and checks

With Figma, the design is whatever your team draws, which is exactly right for a brand with its own system and a designer to keep it. Anticode is for the case where nobody has drawn anything. It picks one font family and one action colour, sets radius by role, and the Critic flags nineteen habits common in AI-made sites. A design gate then blocks pages without visible keyboard focus, alt text or reduced-motion support. Our guide on making an AI website look professional covers the same ground for any tool.

Anticode also runs twelve security checks on the HTML before publishing and re-runs the important ones on the server. Clients without an account can review a preview through a link and leave comments tied to a section.

Where Figma is the better choice

  • Your design system is in Figma. Make uses your libraries and styles; Anticode uses its own seven systems.
  • You want pixel control. Sites publishes what your designer drew, interactions included.
  • Prototypes for user testing. Make builds functional prototypes from existing screens, which is a different job from publishing a business site.
  • Your designers already have Full seats. Make and Sites both work from the seat type design teams use.

Where Anticode is the better choice

  • No design file and no designer. A sentence is enough to start.
  • Checks you don't have to run. Design and security checks gate every publish.
  • Business features without setup. Contact, booking and newsletter forms that reach your inbox and tools such as Google Sheets or Slack.
  • Code that leaves. A Next.js export with Postgres, roles and an admin area, which you can push to GitHub.

Who should pick which

A product team prototyping in its own design system, or a design studio publishing a portfolio it drew, should use Figma Make or Sites. A small business, a founder or a freelancer who wants a website without opening a design tool should use Anticode. See Figma Sites alternatives for other options.

Anticode's limits

No Figma import, no free-form canvas, no multilingual sites, no visitor accounts on published sites and no cart (payment links only). Every Figma fact above links to Figma's own pages as read on 24 October 2026; tell us through the contact page if one has changed.
