Typedream alternatives: reviewing a standalone site now that Typedream belongs to beehiiv

beehiiv bought Typedream in June 2024 and has since built its own website builder into its newsletter platform. Typedream is still sold, and nothing we found says it's closing. The search for Typedream alternatives is a review, then: does a website builder that now sits beside a newsletter product still suit a site that isn't about a newsletter?

What changed in 2024, and since

beehiiv's announcement, beehiiv acquires AI-based website builder Typedream, published on 25 June 2024, said Typedream was home to tens of thousands of active websites and that its website features would become native to the beehiiv platform over the following months. Typedream's own post, Typedream joins beehiiv, told customers they would see no immediate changes and could keep using the platform as it is, and said the Typedream team would lead beehiiv's website building.

That builder arrived. beehiiv's product update of 12 June 2025, Build your dream website, opened its Website Builder beta to everyone on a paid plan, with templates, standalone landing pages, sign-up forms that each trigger their own journey, pop-ups, version history, SEO settings, tracking pixels and redirects. Much of that list, from sign-up journeys to pop-ups tied to automations and lead-magnet pages, is framed around growing a newsletter.

On 24 October 2026, typedream.com still invites new sign-ups under a banner saying it was acquired by beehiiv. We found no closure notice, and neither post sets a date for one. The open question is direction: beehiiv's stated plan was to bring website features into beehiiv itself.

Typedream's plans today

Typedream plans per site, from its pricing page on 24 October 2026; currency not named
PlanPriceIncludes
Free$0One page, a typedream.app address, Typedream badge, 5% transaction fee
Launch$15 a month billed annually, $20 monthlyUnlimited pages, custom domain, one blog, 1,000 form submissions and email subscribers, 2% fee
Grow$42 a month billed annually, $49 monthlyUnlimited blogs and form submissions, 5,000 subscribers, password protection

Figures are from Typedream's pricing page. Card and PayPal fees apply on top of the transaction fee.

Before you decide: what to save

  1. Subscribers and form submissions. Export your email list and form entries first; they matter more than the pages.
  2. Blog posts with their addresses, so you can keep the URLs or set redirects. Anticode has no per-site redirect manager, so there you'd keep the paths rather than redirect them.
  3. Products and payments. If you sell through Typedream, list what you sell and how it's paid out.
  4. Pages and images. Copy each page's text and keep your own images at full size.
  5. Custom code and SEO settings you added through code injection, and each page's title and description.
  6. The domain's DNS records, so you know what to change when you point it somewhere new.

Where Anticode fits

Anticode fits the Typedream owner whose site is a business, a portfolio or a launch page, with a newsletter as one form among several. Describe the site; the Architect asks up to three questions and shows a plan with the pages, look and features, and the build is held to one of seven design systems. Pages can be split into Work, Services, About, Pricing, FAQ and Contact.

The newsletter form sends sign-ups to Mailchimp or Kit, or to Slack, Google Sheets, Airtable, Notion, HubSpot or a webhook; contact submissions are saved and can email you. CMS collections hold owner-edited content such as news or work, served at their own addresses. See form connectors, CMS collections and pricing.

What Anticode won't do for a Typedream site

  • No newsletter platform. Anticode collects sign-ups; sending the newsletter happens in Mailchimp, Kit or similar.
  • No blog engine as such. CMS collections can hold posts, with no comments, RSS or scheduling.
  • No password-protected pages. A published site is public at its address.
  • Payments by link, no cart. One payment link per account, from Stripe Payment Links, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Shopify or Whop, so every buy button opens the same checkout.
  • Fixed booking times. Six set times on the coming days, Mondays skipped.
  • No video, embeds or code injection on design-engine pages, and the builder is in English only.

When staying on Typedream makes sense

If your site works, the plan suits you and you aren't relying on new features, staying is reasonable: Typedream's own post promised no immediate changes, and it's still sold. Keep a current export of your subscribers, and watch typedream.com and beehiiv's updates for any notice. If your site is mainly a newsletter, moving to beehiiv's own builder keeps you with the same company and its current website work.
