Notion Sites alternatives for when your website still looks like a Notion page
Notion Sites publishes a Notion page to the web in a click, and for a team handbook or a public roadmap that's exactly the right amount of effort. It keeps Notion's look, though: a page of blocks with a few settings on top. People search for Notion Sites alternatives when the page needs to work as a marketing site, with its own layout, type and forms. If what you're publishing is documentation your team already edits in Notion, stay.
What Notion lets you change
Notion's help article on public pages and web publishing says anyone can publish a page, claim one notion.site domain and switch on search engine indexing. Paid plans add more: an SEO title and description, themes, Google Analytics and a custom slug. The Sites product page describes the theme choice as light or dark mode, and lists removing the Notion logo under personal branding.
A custom domain is an add-on. Notion's pricing page, as of 24 October 2026, says you can connect a custom domain and remove Notion branding for $8 a month per domain paid annually, or $10 a month per domain paid monthly, in US dollars. That's on top of any per-member plan.
So the controls are about publishing, not design. Columns, callouts and toggles are the layout. For a help centre that's a strength; for a studio, a product launch or a local business, it often isn't what the owner had in mind.
Before you move off Notion Sites
- Export the pages you'll reuse. Notion's export guide offers PDF, HTML as a zip, and Markdown and CSV, where databases come out as CSV with Markdown files for subpages.
- Note your published URLs. Copy each public page address and its slug, so the new site can redirect or match them. Anticode has no per-site redirect manager, so old notion.site links won't redirect to it.
- Decide what stays in Notion. Internal docs can keep publishing from Notion while the marketing pages move. You don't have to pick one tool for everything.
- Check the domain. If you bought the custom domain add-on, note the DNS records before you switch them to the new host.
Four options to compare
| Option | Suits | From its own pages |
|---|---|---|
| Super | Keeping Notion as the place you write, with more control over the look | Its pricing page lists a Personal site at $16 a month, or $144 a year, with a custom domain, password protection and custom code |
| Framer | A designed marketing site with a CMS you edit in Framer | Its pricing page lists Basic at $10 a month with 30 pages and 2 CMS collections |
| Carrd | A single page with a form and your own domain | Pro Standard is $19 a year for ten sites with custom domains, forms and embeds |
| Anticode | A designed small-business or launch site, built from a description | Content lives in Anticode, not Notion; English only |
Super and Carrd show prices with a dollar sign and no currency code. Super is the closest step: your words stay in Notion and only the presentation changes. The others mean editing somewhere new.
Where Anticode fits
Anticode is for the moment the site needs to look designed rather than documented. Describe the business, and the Architect asks up to three questions and shows a plan with pages, sections and look before building. The design engine works from seven design systems, each with its own type, spacing and one action colour, so the result has a layout of its own rather than a stack of blocks.
Notion can still be part of the flow. Contact and booking form entries can be sent to a Notion database through the Notion connector, as well as to Slack, Google Sheets or HubSpot. Content you update often, such as a list of events or open roles, can live in a CMS collection edited in the Anticode dashboard. Page views per day by source are counted without cookies, so there's no Google Analytics tag to add.
What you give up
- Editing in Notion. Anticode doesn't read your Notion pages. Paste the text in, or describe it; updates happen in Anticode.
- Notion's blocks. No toggles, databases with filters or synced blocks on the published site.
- Embeds. Published pages can't embed videos, maps or other widgets; they link to them.
- Private pages. Every published Anticode page is public; there's no password protection.
- Languages. The builder and sites are English only.
- Payments. Selling works through one payment link per account, with no cart.
When Notion Sites is enough
Stay on Notion Sites for anything your team already writes and maintains in Notion: a handbook, a changelog, a public roadmap, a resource list, a careers page that HR edits. Publishing from the place you write removes a whole step, and a light theme with your logo is often all a doc needs. If the only complaint is the notion.site address, the domain add-on may solve it for less effort than a move.
Questions people ask
How much is a custom domain on Notion Sites?
Notion's pricing page lists $8 a month per domain paid annually or $10 paid monthly, in US dollars, as of 24 October 2026. It also removes Notion branding.
Can I export my Notion site?
You can export pages as HTML, Markdown and CSV, or PDF. That gives you the content, not a site that runs elsewhere.
Which notion sites alternatives keep editing in Notion?

Can Anticode send form entries to Notion?
Yes. The Notion connector sends each form submission to Notion, tagged with the site's name.
