Anything alternatives for website projects, and after Apple's March 2026 removal

Anything, the AI agent that began as Create (create.xyz), builds mobile and web apps from a conversation. People look at Anything alternatives for two reasons: Apple pulled Anything's own iPhone app in late March 2026, and some users only ever needed a website. If you're building a real mobile app with a backend from prompts, Anything is still built for that job.

From Create to Anything, and the App Store

Anything's Series A post of 29 September 2025 describes launching a text-to-app tool called Create at create.xyz in 2024, then taking the name Anything in 2025. Its documentation describes an AI agent that builds mobile and web apps from a conversation, and the post describes building in backends, databases, sign-in and payments.

On 30 March 2026, 9to5Mac reported that Apple had pulled Anything's iPhone app from the App Store the previous week, citing guideline 2.5.2, which requires apps to be self-contained and not download or run code that changes their features. The report says Apple rejected an update that would have previewed generated apps in a browser and then removed the app. It concerns Anything's own iPhone app; it doesn't say anything about apps people built and published with it. Check the App Store for the app's current status before you decide anything on the strength of that news.

Building and submitting doesn't depend on that iPhone app. Anything's publishing guide describes putting a web app on a yourapp.created.app address, or submitting a mobile app to Apple through TestFlight and to Google Play's internal testing track.

Plans and credits, as of 24 October 2026

Anything's subscriptions page says building an app needs a paid plan. Pro 20k is $19 a month billed annually ($228 charged once) or $24 month to month, with 20k credits; Max plans start at $199 a month billed annually, or $239 monthly, with 220k credits. The currency isn't named. Custom domains need Pro or Max. Its credits page says every message you send uses credits, monthly credits expire at the end of the billing cycle, and top-off credits don't. Cancelling keeps your plan active until the end of the cycle.

Before you move: take the code

  1. Download the project. The export guide says the Code tab has a Download Project button that gives you a zip, at any time. GitHub sync isn't available yet, so push the zip to a repository yourself.
  2. Export your data. Anything's database guide describes a built-in PostgreSQL database for every project. Take its contents before you cancel, along with your users if the app has sign-in.
  3. Note your secrets and integrations: API keys, Stripe or RevenueCat settings and any outside services the app calls. They live outside the code.
  4. Keep your store listings. Store submission runs through your own Apple Developer and Google Play accounts, so the listings stay with you.
  5. Spend or forgo credits knowingly. Monthly credits expire at the end of the cycle; top-off credits don't.

Where Anticode fits

Anticode fits the Anything user whose project was really a website: a launch page, a service business or a portfolio. The Architect asks up to three questions that change the build and shows a plan before building, and the builder shows a quote before each build; only successful builds count against your allowance. Pages come from a design engine with seven design systems and run no scripts. Every published site can also be installed on a phone or desktop as an app (a PWA), with an offline fallback.

For interactive things, such as a calculator, a quiz or a game, Anticode writes the whole app as one HTML document that runs in a strict sandbox in the visitor's browser. If you want a store listing, Anticode gives you a checklist and a Capacitor project for iOS and Android to download; submitting it is up to you. See the app sandbox, app-store packaging and pricing.

What Anticode can't replace

  • No backend in apps. No network, server database, real accounts, live data, multiplayer, payments or AI inside an app; anything needing a server is simulated and labelled as demo data. Real accounts come only with the Next.js export.
  • No native device features. No camera, microphone or location in apps.
  • Payments by link. No cart: buy buttons open a checkout link from Stripe Payment Links, PayPal, Gumroad, Lemon Squeezy, Shopify or Whop, with one payment link per account.
  • Fixed booking times. Six set times on the coming days, Mondays skipped; owners can't set hours.
  • No video or embeds on design-engine pages, and the builder and its pages are in English only.
  • No import. It can't read an Anything project or zip.

Who should stay on Anything

If you're shipping a mobile app with sign-in, a database and in-app purchases, and you want an agent to build and submit it, Anything remains the better choice for prompt-built mobile apps, and its submission flow runs from the web builder through TestFlight. The App Store news concerned Anything's own iPhone app. Download your code regularly as insurance, and move only if your project turns out to be a website.

Questions people ask

Why was Anything removed from the App Store?

9to5Mac reported in March 2026 that Apple cited guideline 2.5.2, which requires apps to be self-contained. The report concerns Anything's own iPhone app, not apps built with it.

Can I download my code from Anything?

Yes. Its export guide says the Code tab's Download Project button gives you a zip at any time.

Do Anything credits roll over?

Monthly plan credits expire at the end of the billing cycle, according to its credits page. Top-off credits don't expire.

Is Create.xyz the same as Anything?

Yes. Anything's Series A post describes launching Create at create.xyz in 2024 and adopting the Anything name in 2025.
